Posts from the Old Blog: photographing priceless memories

Obviously, I adore photographs…

There has been no time in history that we’ve been so easily able to capture memories.  First there were no cameras, then there were cameras but it took minutes to get a good exposure, then it was easier to get a good exposure but film was so expensive so you had to save it — but now, now it’s quick, easy, and inexpensive!

Take this photo for example, if I’d been using film there’s no way I would have gotten this photo. I wouldn’t have have my camera ready, I would’ve felt like I needed to be careful and save film for something good.

But I didn’t have to worry about all that. And I love how this photo turned out, it’s so real.  It’s a real memory, a memory of my boy and his grandpa picking tomatoes from the garden.  And we’ve managed to capture it forever, never to be forgotten.
