Posts from the Old Blog: In My Bag: Jagmin 365 1-13-10

This is what’s in my camera bag.

Sometime’s I tend to be a bit of a gearhead.  But I just want to have the tools to accomplish what I need to accomplish.

D700, D200, and (2) Fuji S5 PRO’s (one of which is not pictured and is for sale).

Sigma 70-200mm f2.8, Tamron 28-75mm f2.8, Tokina 11-16mm f2.8, Tokina 10-17mm f3.5 or something like that, also an old manual focus 70-210 with 2x teleconverter, and 50mm f1.8 (not pictured).

Flashes, batteries, more batteries, triggers, CF cards, grey cards, gels, bounce cards, and a UV filter.

I love my D700 for it’s super clean ISO range, and speed.  I love my Fuji S5 PROs because I get unmatched beautiful images from them and the dynamic range is INSANE, but they are a little on the slow side.  I love my D200 for… well, I used to love it before my D700 and S5s came along.

The 70-200mm is super sharp and produces yummy, creamy bokeh.  The 28-75rmm, eh, it’s OK.  The 50mm is tack sharp and fast.

You may wonder why the need for the 11-16mm and the 10-17mm.  One reason is that Matt and I often need to shoot ultra wide at the same time.  But also, the 11-16mm is the biggest bargain in UWAs out there, it’s build quality is great, and the images are incredibly sharp.  But the 10-17mm is also really cool in it’s own way, because it’s a fisheye at 10mm and an UWA at 17mm.
